Prescription benefits

Your Company continues to absorb the majority of rising pharmacy costs. On September 1, all Aetna plan members will transition to the CVS Exclusive Choice Plus Pharmacy Network. This network will include Your Company pharmacies, CVS retail and mail pharmacies, Walmart, and a few other retail pharmacies based on where you live.

Generic, preferred brand, and non-preferred brand categories remain the same. Co-pays for generics and preferred brands will increase, while non-preferred brands will remain $75.

Saving money

  • Automatic coverage

When you enroll in a Medical Plan, you automatically receive prescription drug coverage.

  • Prior authorization

Some prescription medications require prior authorization to be covered under the Plan. If you have a medication that requires prior authorization, ask your doctor to call the CVS Caremark Prior Authorization Department at 1-800-000-0000.

  • Your Company retail and CVS retail or mail order pharmacies

When you use a company retail pharmacy or the CVS retail or mail order pharmacies for your medications, you’ll receive a 90-day supply for a 60-day price. Just ask your doctor for a 90-day prescription with refills for up to one year.

  • Step therapy program

Step therapy encourages you to choose a generic medication before a non-preferred brand to help lower your out-of-pocket prescription costs.

  • Specialty medication

Specialty medications are designed for individuals with rare, complex, or genetic conditions. If you or a family member is taking a specialty medication, you can have it filled at a Your Company retail pharmacy, CVS retail pharmacy, or CVS specialty pharmacy.
