What has changed for 2018?

We are investing more money into the Plan this year to help make it more affordable. In addition, we are adjusting the benefits so that employees who do not have reasonable access to a company hospital will have similar out-of-pocket expenses as someone using a company hospital.

  • If you do not live in Virginia, California, North Dakota, South Carolina, or Texas service area, you will be eligible for two new Plans — the Standard Plan and Enhanced Plans. To determine which Medical Plan options are available to you, go to our enrollment website and check out the special Open Enrollment section. Only the Plan choices that are available to you will be listed.
  • If you DO live in a Virginia, California, North Dakota, South Carolina, or Texas service area, you will continue to have the opportunity to receive the highest level of reimbursement when you receive services from a company hospital.
  • Employees at Your Company California will have a lower co-pay under the Basic Plan for in-network PCP office visits.
  • Other Medical Plan enhancements include a Maternity Benefit and a Newborn Nursery Benefit.
  • Premiums for the Aetna Medical Plans will increase. This will be the first increase in employee premiums since 2015.
  • The Optima premium will significantly increase to align with the value of the Plan.
  • For pharmacy benefits, all Aetna plan members will transition to the CVS Exclusive Choice Plus Pharmacy Network. This network will include Your Company pharmacies, CVS retail and mail, Walmart, and a few other retail pharmacies based on where you live. Co-pays for generic and preferred brand medications will increase, while co-pays for non-preferred brand medications will stay the same.
  • There will be additional changes in pharmacy benefits, including a Starter Fill Program and a Dispense as Written Cost Share.
  • The lab benefit, when provided by a Your Company outpatient hospital lab, or an Aetna outpatient hospital or free-standing lab, will move from deductible/co-insurance to a flat co-pay. This enhanced benefit will be implemented for all Plan options except the Basic and Optima HMO Plans.
  • There will be benefit enhancements to your MetLife Dental coverage and changes in how many x-rays will be covered per Plan year for adults and children.
