Dental Plan

• Offered through MetLife Preferred Dentist Program.
• Coverage for in-network and out-of-network preventive, restorative, and orthodontic services.
• You’ll receive the highest level of coverage if you use in-network providers.

Please take note of these important changes in your dental coverage.

Benefit enhancements

• The In-Network Benefit Maximum will increase from $2,000 to $2,500 per Plan year.
• The Missing Tooth Exclusion will be discontinued. This means the Plan will now pay for restorative services or supplies for a tooth that was missing prior to the time you were covered under the Plan.
• One Problem Focus Exam (emergency exam) will be provided every Plan year and covered at 100%.
• Sealants will be provided up to age 19 (previously up to age 14).

X-ray service frequency

These changes are in line with the current American Dental Association guidelines for dental radiation exposure:

• Full mouth and panoramic x-rays will be covered once every five Plan years, instead of once every three Plan years.
• For children, one set of bitewing x-rays will be covered per Plan year, instead of two sets per Plan year.
• Periapical x-rays will be covered as a Type B Basic Restorative Service, instead of a Type A Diagnostic Service. This means you’ll pay a portion of the covered expense.
